Hello and welcome back to AAA! The past 2 weeks have been PACKED full of celebrations including birthdays, proposals, and AAA debuts! As we approach thanksgiving I am blessed to have such wonderful friends and family in my life. Let’s get to todays piece :).
Our adventures begin shortly after I hit publish on the last newsletter - Spooky Scary Skeletons. My friend Kate had a birthday on Nov 8th, however, she was on a trip that day so we celebrated her special day on Sunday Nov 5th. Celebrations included Kate cooking a steak dinner for the Val, Kathryn, Karthyn’s BF - Peyton, Zion and I. Everybody needs a friend like Kate. Special congratulations to Kate for getting older and normal congratulations to Peyton who is making his AAA debut!
Monday Nov 6th Noah and Kylie planned a YJP nature hike at some of the trails by barton springs! We all forgot about daylight savings time so even though the hike was at 6pm it was pretty dark… luckily we brought plenty of head lamps! “Improvise, Adapt, Overcome”- Bear Grylls . It was a great event and I can’t wait for more of them coming in January.
Tuesday Nov 7th was a night of culinary excellence as Alex introduced Noah and I to the best burger in Austin. Alex is a burger connoisseur and one of this hobbies includes scouring the US for notable burgers and lucky for us there are a few in Austin.
Alex recommend that we go to Dai Due and my taste buds were delighted to indulge in the delicious burger you see below. Observant folks will notice that this is actually a photo of Alex’s burger because Noah and I believe in keeping kosher. Just kidding… it’s because cheese = pain #LactoseQueens.

On Thursday November 9th we had a Diwali celebration at work which was a lot of fun! Diwali roughly translates to “row of lights” and is a major holiday that focuses on good’s triumph over evil and is traditionally celebrated with firework, family and Rangolis.
Val and I were both on the planning committee for the event and one of the directors brought in some spare traditional Indian clothing for me. I did enjoy wearing it but I think I would prefer what Kasyap is wearing. That man looks good #OOTD.

Friday night November 10th was a special occasion as Noah and Kylie got engaged! Following the engagement our YJP friend group, as well as, some of Kylie and Noah’s closest friends met up at the Tiniest bar in Texas to celebrate the engagement. Allegedly a party is also being planned to celebrate Kylie and Ronit making their first appearances in AAA!

Also making their AAA debut’s are my sister Sara, Aunt Missy, and Gramy who came to visit Austin for the weekend of Nov 10-12! During this trip we did what the Dobbins family does best - Eat!
Missy lined up some great restaurants and dessert spots including Mattie’s and Gourdoughs. Other activities include showing my 80 year old gramy what Dirty 6th looks like (during the day) and exploring local bookstores while in search of public restrooms… in other words it was a classic Dobbins’ family visit!

Mom Appreciation Post! On Monday November 13th my Mom celebrated another year of getting birthday shoutouts from her awesome and creative son! I would like to thank apple for recommending the below 4 photos for this newsletter!

The rest of the week of the Nov 13th was fairly uneventful except for a YJP happy hour on the 16th but I forgot to take photos - shout out Alex Ball for planning another great event though!
On Friday the 17th I flew home to South Bend, Indiana so that I could go to the Notre Dame vs Wake Forest game with Pj Dobbins AKA Dad. This was our first game together since Notre Dame played Ball State in September 2018.
South Bend was experiencing some uncharacteristically nice weather this past weekend and on Sunday I took a long run through NDs campus just for old times sake and it was stunning!

On Saturday night the 18th my Sister landed in SBN and she and I are spending Thanksgiving together with my Dad and step mom April.
Thanks for tuning in for another great edition of AAA! Safe travels to all who are traveling for Thanksgiving and I will see you all again the first week of December when I will have some exciting travel news to share :).
What a fun November with friends and family! Thanks for the birthday wishes and for picking flattering pics. . Love you!
